Must have RV travel guides

Unless you have a laptop at your disposal, Good old fashioned hard copy books are a must in an RV. Two books that I never leave home without are the Next Exit and the Trailer Life Campground Directory. My husband and I did get a pair of laptops this year for travelling, and I see that the Trailer Life Campground directory is now available on CD, I plan to try that out in 2009.

Highway Exit Finder

I started using this book in 2005 and love it! This book uses a dominant red font to denote where a particular stop has locations that are friendly for RVs(in my case with my RV and horse trailer I am 42 feet long). Space to maneuver and "levelness" of a potential stopping point is critical in a motorhome. The bigger the rig the more critical these factors are.

Trailer Life Campground Directory

This is critical for me and my husband because we tend to point in a direction and go. Our first used RV came with a 2003 edition and we have been hooked ever since. This is a huge phone directory sized monster, but when it comes time to find that nights camp, this is a must-have book. We use the rating sytem to decide where best to stay, the text is very small so be ready to use a magnifying glass!

New Arrivals!

NEW for 2008! Trailer Life Directory on CD	New for this year is a CD version of the Trailer Life Directory, I will be getting this for sure for my 2009 travels!
Beginning RVer's Book	This is great research book. Sure once you know all about RVing this will gather dust, but for just starting out it is a must have!

On my "to read" list

I am feeling the itch to travel full time, if not for a year, at least for a couple of months. The economy is tanking and a potential layoff at my day job might just grant me my wish to travel extensively in our RV sooner than later. I want to get this book for some holiday reading! I will move it to the review section after I have read it.
