On April 9, I packed up for the first horse show of the year. I vend at this show so the horse trailer was packed floor to ceiling with all the horse gear and stuff to sell. I had already used the RV 2x, but I did notice that the trailer brake was dead the week before we left. This is a HUGE lesson to try out all systems well in advance of going on a trip!
The brake is a Prodigy brand unit and I had to buy a new one, with the hope that I will get reimbursed for it. The brake controller was less than 2 years old. All systems worked well. I boondocked with my friend in the parking lot. We did get power on day two which was nice. On the way home I encountered a nasty snow storm at the top of Stevens Pass. The final couple of miles up to the summit were a blizzard. Luckily I caught up to the snow plow so I could follow it while all the other traffic went around in the inner lane which was snowy. The other side of the road was white with snow. It was a bit hairy. The trailer wheel wells were covered in ice chunks. I had left the horse blanketed thank goodness so the poor thing didn't freeze. As soon as we topped the summit, it turned to rain... whew! Another trip will done with some adventure thrown in for good measure:)
