August 2006 - Second longest trip so far! | | I sold my single wall 2 horse trailer and bought the next model up from a Trailer Distributor in Bend Oregon. I arranged to stay at a Thousand Trails "Preserve" for the weekend for free. We had to go to a 90 minute tour and sales pitch. I actually enjoyed learning about them. I think it is a perfect arrangement to travel with families. Unfortunately my RV time is pretty well used up doing horsey things, not leaving enough time to justify the cost of having that type of membership. I drove straight home on sunday, 8.5 hours hauling the trailer. The ride home was uneventful. The only bad thing that happened was, during our attempt to go shopping, I parallel parked a tad too close to a sidewalk and brushed the electric step, ripping it partially from the RV, taking some of the RV step with it. We later fixed it with some heavy duty screws:) |
